Bringing Safe Drinking Water to Rural Families in Guanacaste Costa Rica
For many rural families in Guanacaste, access to clean drinking water is not guaranteed. Aging infrastructure, seasonal droughts, and limited maintenance resources force communities to rely on unsafe or inconsistent water sources.
Our organization has been working alongside these communities to identify practical, long-term solutions that improve water access while strengthening local ownership. This project focuses on rehabilitating and installing community-managed water systems that provide reliable and safe drinking water for households, schools, and shared community spaces.
The project will serve approximately 120 families and includes technical assessment, infrastructure improvements, and hands-on training for local water committees. By combining physical upgrades with community training, we ensure that systems can be maintained locally and remain functional over time.
Funds raised will be released in stages based on verified progress, allowing donors and partners to follow the project’s impact from preparation through completion. Our goal is not only to improve access to water, but to support communities in building resilient, self-managed systems that protect health and dignity for years to come
